0.2 FTE Teacher Librarian / Prep Teacher

Temporary: September 1, 2024 – December 20, 2024 or full return of the incumbent

NOTE: This assignment may end prior to the end date or it may be extended

Qualifications:

BC Certification

Bachelor of Education in Elementary

Bachelor of Education in Library Science or Diploma in Library Science is an asset

Previous experience working as a teacher librarian at the elementary level is preferred

Previous successful experience teaching physical education at the elementary level is preferred

Knowledge and experience with Destiny (automated library program)

Demonstrated current knowledge of the renewed curriculum, including the learning and core competencies and appropriate resources, is essential

Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies is essential

Demonstrated ability to integrate appropriate technologies into educational programs

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers in similar grades

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills
