The Legislation, Policy and Governance Branch leads the development of the Ministry’s legislative framework, including legislation governing the public and independent school systems, and the regulation of the teaching profession. The Governance and Legislation Unit is a dynamic and welcoming team and is responsible for leading changes to legislation, reviewing policy, completing minister’s appointments, and assisting with the administration of student appeals.

The Legislative Analyst is responsible for researching, amending and processing legislation, regulations and orders through the required stages.  If you have knowledge of  common legal instruments and knowledge of legal research techniques, we look forward to receiving your application.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Law or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in legal, economic, social or legislative research and analysis.
  • Experience dealing with senior officials and providing advice and recommendations.
  • Experience dealing with issues of a cross-ministry and multi-jurisdictional nature.

    PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH:

  • More experience in the requirements listed above.
