The Learning Division is responsible for providing leadership and support to school districts in the areas of Indigenous Education, Inclusive Education, Early Learning, French Programs, Student Wellness and Safety, Strategic Priorities and Mental Health. Through a focus on personalized learning, the Learning Division promotes choice and flexibility, student engagement, and strong basic skills and competencies.

The Director, Mental Health and Addictions is responsible for providing direction and leadership to the Mental Health in Schools Strategy, Substance use, Vaping Program and Integrated Child and Youth Teams (ICY Teams). The Director, leads the develop of branch policies and procedures, ensures program deliverables are achieved, risks identified and managed, and manages financial and human resources. The Director is responsible for maintaining strong and collaborative working relationships with several education stakeholders and cross-government partners who are integral to the programs in the branch.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Post-secondary degree in Educational Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Social Work, Health Sciences, or an equivalent combination of education/experience with considerable recent related experience working in the area of Mental Health and Substance Use. 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the supervision of multi-disciplinary operational staff.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership roles in a professional service or stakeholder management environment.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading organizational change associated with implementation of new learning strategies. 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary senior management teams in the development and implementation of a diverse range of projects.
