Job Summary Act as a specialized resource to business groups with primary focus of performance improvement initiatives, the design, and facilitation of training and development initiatives to support business strategies and meet industry compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities Lead initiatives, training and qualification programs designed specifically for the development of Technicians for all unit areas.

This includes assisting in the development, evolution and execution of course content; ensuring program sustainability and site commitments are aligned with the organization’s training philosophy and vision, developed using consistent format, and compliant with regulatory agencies.

Conduct evaluations of new Production Technicians based on established GMP/GDP standards and expectations of Site Leadership and Production Management.

Liaise and work closely with Technical Trainers and Management to ensure compliance issues from the shop floor are adequately and appropriately addressed.

Provide consulting services to business group clients at all levels, including Managers, Supervisors, and floor Technicians on all shifts.

Analyze identified workplace performance gaps, using appropriate data collection processes, at individual, team and functional group levels.

Investigate and provide proof of training in support of all deviations and investigations generated for the site.

Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of business group-specific competency models to support business strategies and processes; key components include: o Departmental competency definitions o Assessment standards, methods, and processes o Assessor qualifications o Information management o Communication channels Develop and deliver training courses, workshops/information sessions based on business strategies and needs, SODs, training plans and compliance regulations specific to the identified Org Unit’s needs.

Conduct regular diagnosis on documentation and demonstration training gaps.

Implement performance improvement projects, as either the project leader or in a consulting role to the Managers, including, but not limited to training, environmental conditions and reward & recognition.

Work with and provide guidance to Production Administrators in the investigation and analysis of unit operation training gaps.

Establish and conduct a periodic review of all Operations/Production training records to determine training gaps for general GMP Training, Document Training, Technical Training and Trainer Qualification.

Work with Technical Training to establish and conduct periodic review of all Operations/Production Job function to Training Plan matrices.

Lead the Competency Development team in the development and maintenance of training materials and activities to ensure consistency of schedules, lesson/training plans for Operations/Production staff.

Coordinate the development and maintenance of systems, tools, or aids for the evaluation and follow-up on knowledge testing and demonstrated behaviours.

Liaise with other business groups in Apotex and Affiliates as well as corporate functions to ensure alignment and enhance synergies.

Upgrade skills as required to remain current in competency development and training development/implementation.

Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements College or University degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Science or related discipline; or equivalent training and experience.

Three to five years’ experience in a GMP manufacturing environment required.

Experience with and knowledge of adult learning and adult education concepts, behavior engineering concepts and methods.

Experience with and knowledge of training and development concepts.

Adult training experience preferred.

Strong Leadership skills.

Strong communication, facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and relationship building skills.

Excellent organization, troubleshooting and report writing skills.

Well-developed team skills and customer focused approach.

Multi-tasking and project management skills.

Computer literacy with MS office tools.

Understanding of GMPs and SODs.
