Job Description Key Responsibilities: Ownership of feature/capability strategy by defining the technology and enablers roadmap and cross-collaborating with multiple teams to ensure feasibility and viability.

Single point contact for feature execution working with the various program teams, leadership and engineering teams for a successful and robust launch.

Providing regular and key updates to the leadership and team leaders to ensure synchronization and smooth flow of information.

Lead other system capability engineers by providing direction in all aspects of systems development such as requirements definition, analysis and development of their applicable features/systems/capabilities.

Continuously work towards improving efficiency in the capability domain group by improving processes, quality and mentoring the team members.

Lead/participate in software peer reviews to ensure compliance to requirements.

Provide technical leadership for advanced technology development.

Collaborate with other System Engineers and Subject Matter Experts to define and negotiate key functional and performance requirements.

Root cause all applicable system related issues during testing and validation.

Participate in Pre-Production Builds (IV Builds & CTF) at PPO and provide feedback.

Communicates information to both internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure deliverables are complete as per milestones with excellence.

Responsible for compliance with GM processes and safety procedures.

Represent the team globally as a key stakeholder to the product.

Support and/or lead activities for customer outreach and education in these technologies and their respective use cases.

Talent development within the team and the Systems Engineering group.

Additional Job Description Required Skills: Deep knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and a proven track record of using them successfully Strong technical leadership skills and an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with colleagues local and at remote sites High level of oral and written communication skills Very strong project management skills 8 or more years of experience with automotive or similar electronic modules and systems engineering Demonstrated proficiency in writing and comprehending software and hardware requirements and interfaces Experience with requirement management tools such as DOORS, DNG, JAMA etc.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Comfortable with ambiguity and has a passion to shape the future Cumulative travel requirements of 2 to 6 weeks a year are typical, primarily to Michigan and other locations in the US Creative, disciplined, strong sense of responsibility, delivery and schedule commitment Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Network, and Powertrain Experience in performing system and component level DFMEAs DFSS Blackbelt certification Design/Development of safety critical systems/components (ISO26262) Experience in automotive product release and specification process Education and Training: Master’s Degree in Engineering Advanced degrees preferred Diversity Information General Motors is committed to being a workplace that is not only free of discrimination, but one that genuinely fosters inclusion and belonging.
