Internship Coordinator

Cestar College of Business, Health and Technology

This is a Contract position in Lasalle, QC posted July 28, 2022.


The Internship Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with employers and corporations within the community to increase recruitment of college’s students for their internship. The internship coordinator will determine hiring needs of employers and promote the college’s majors to employers via cold calls, mass mailings, and off-site employer visits. This position will assist with on-campus recruitment events and will oversee the posting of employment opportunities.


  • Strategically identify and establish new employer contacts, and strengthen current employer contacts through outreach activities such as cold calls, mass mailings, and individual employer visits.
  • Schedule and conduct employer visits to determine hiring needs and promote the college’s students as a potential candidate pool.
  • Work with employers to develop marketing strategies for enhancement of employer presence on campus, which includes, but not limited to: campus recruitment, job postings, internships, career fairs, class/organization presentations, and resume searches.
  • Facilitate relationships between employers and the college community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni association, foundation, etc.
  • Work closely with the internship staff to develop internships opportunities for students.
  • Design and develop employer marketing material, compose content, and coordinate timing of communications to employers.
  • Compile and report data on employer relations activities, assess employer relations efforts, and provide feedback as to the effectiveness of such efforts.
  • Track job market demand, use of career services, trends in recruiting, job-offer data, and hiring results for students in various academic majors.
  • Complete employer site visit forms and generate monthly and annual reports.
  • Assist career counselor in coordinating job fairs and professional development workshops.
  • Attend meetings and network at appropriate professional organizations.


Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree and three years of work experience in a corporate/industry, career services, recruiting, or sales and marketing.
  • A dynamic, professional demeanor with exceptional organization, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to multitask. Exceptional time management skills.
  • Exhibit a motivated/enthusiastic work style.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Travel to each campus’ community (LaSalle, Longueil, Sherbrooke) is necessary.
  • Bilingual in English and French (both written and spoken)

Preferred qualifications

  • A master’s degree.
  • Experience in marketing, negotiation, and strategic planning.
  • Experience with college recruiting, from a higher education or a business perspective.
