Job percentage: 50% until the return of the incumbent or no later than June 30 2023

Nature of work

The incumbent will be responsible for the detection, identification and evaluation of school related problems or problems of socio-emotional behaviour and carrying out or assisting teachers to carry out reeducation programs or re-adaptation programs with students having learning problems. Among other responsibilities, the incumbent will also be providing assistance to pupils in the choice of the educational profile most suited to their inclinations and aptitudes and most appropriate to the academic or vocational professional career they have chosen.

Main Responsibilities

• Meets with students individually or in groups and when necessary, administers tests of a specific nature.
• Refers the student to the appropriate persons as well as to specialized institutions as required.
• Collaborates in the planning activity programs especially for special classes;
• Assists and advises the administration, teachers and parents and provides them with appropriate reports.
• Collaborates in case studies within multidisciplinary teams.

• Member of l’Ordre des psychoeducateurs et des psychoeducatrices du Québec
• A Bachelor Degree with a specialty in Psycho-Education
• An excellent knowledge of oral and written English and a good knowledge of oral and written French
• Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, parents and supervisor
• Ability to establish relationships which demonstrate courtesy, respect and integrity
• Respect of the orientation and of the values of the school and the community
