JOB POSTING 874150 Job Title: Radiation Therapy Team Supervisor (Team 4) Site: Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Department: Radiation Therapy Reports to: Manager Salary Scale: D009 Hourly rate: $41.81
– $52.27 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Status: Temporary full-time (3 months with opportunity to extend to one year) POSITION: As an integral member of the inter-professional super team leadership, the Radiation Therapy (Super Team) Supervisor (RTS) provides oversight for super team operations.

This position is responsible for overseeing and the practice of Radiation Therapists in their assigned team.

He or she will contribute to staff development by mentoring, coaching and providing direction; by ongoing development and performance monitoring of team members, in a supportive/collaborative learning environment.

The RTS will liaise with members of the multi
– disciplinary team to ensure efficient coordination of care/service provision in order to meet /exceed high standards of practice, quality and safety.

The RTS undertakes quality assurance responsibilities, fosters a culture of patient safety and error elimination.

Through the provision of leadership and the application of clinical expertise the team care leader contributes to ensuring a high standard of practice is maintained for the optimal management of patient care.

The RTS maintains their clinical skills by participating in clinical practice 20% of the time; primarily through training and coaching of team member.

The RT supervisor will also play a hands-on role in the development and dissemination of new techniques and technology.The main function of the RMP Super Teams is to facilitate effective and efficient Radiation Therapy treatment; by employing team work and optimizing use of resources to adopt standardized approaches to planning and treatment in order to enhance the quality of care.

In collaboration with the physician and physicist super team leads, the radiation therapy RTS will: Enhance the transparency of the organizational structure of the Super Team Ensure treatment policies are complete and up to date, available and communicated Ensure treatment protocols are maintained by the site groups, that they defined using common principles, are complete, up to date, and communicated Ensure an up to date inventory of the full set of protocols is available Facilitate communication within the super-team, promote team work and engagement in problem-solving Ensure QA policies are implemented Stimulate disciplined innovation and creativity QUALIFICATIONS: At minimum, completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or recognized equivalent required Current Registration with CMRTO Membership with CAMRT Current CPR Certification A minimum of 5 years practical and related experience as a Radiation Therapist At least 2 years previous experience undertaking leadership role(s)
– demonstrated leadership abilities and effectiveness Effective team leadership; effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills Evidence of professional development in area of leadership, e.g., completion of leadership courses/workshops required.

Willingness to participate in further learning Familiarity with regulatory requirement governing practice such as CMRTO standards of practice, MRT, ACT, RHPA, HARP, CNSC, as well as UHN policies Ability to apply knowledge of radiation therapy principles, theories and concepts
