Job Description As a Sr.

Developer, Risk Systems Engineering , you will be responsible for building and evolving end-to-end technology solutions for the Investment Risk business groups including Enterprise Market Risk, Credit Risk and Liquidity Risk.

The focus will be to build cloud solutions and services for the next-generation Risk Management system as well as to support legacy risk system through a period of architectural change.

Reporting to the Manager of Risk Systems Engineering, and in partnership with peer Technology & Data team and a variety of business departments, this role will have a unique opportunity to work as part of a multi-year initiative transforming our technology landscape in the Investment Risk space in order to support CPPIB 2025 Technology and Data Strategy.

You will see the unique engineering challenges faced by one of the largest global institutional investors and apply cutting-edge technologies to inform very large investment decisions.

To be successful in this role, you need to have solid experiences in delivering scalable full-stack engineering solutions, implementing and managing vendor systems, meeting business needs and aligning with architectural best practices and Technology & Data strategy.

You will also need to build a strong understanding of existing processes and how to apply best engineering practices to reduce operational costs, improve operational efficiency by simplifying and scaling up the technology solutions.

Role Specific Accountabilities: Design and build robust, resilient and scalable technical solutions by working closely with peer Technology & Data teams and our business partners Implement financial product specific processing in the cloud for CPP Investments’ next-generation Risk Management system Develop, maintain, and support cloud software solutions, micro-services, and user interfaces to allow future innovations to be used by the firm Apply cloud technology and build components through rapid prototyping exercises to solicit early user feedback, discover appropriate solutions, and implement incremental improvement Support innovation in the cloud and contribute to sustainable development and automated deployment practices, including DevOps, continuous integration and delivery, orchestration, and infrastructure as code Participate in the project life cycle from analysis, to development and testing, and applying best practices and hands-on expertise as required Provide troubleshooting support and knowledge transfer to the application support team Qualifications A proactive, high energy attitude with a history of implementing quality code and best practice Excellent communication, attention to details with an ability to naturally influence others and sell ideas effectively to stakeholders at various levels A strong software engineering mindset in problem solving, DevOps and Agile SDLC 5 years’ experience in full stack development including front-end and backend (e.g.

Angular, JavaScript, Python, Java, Tableau, databases) with strong mindsets in DevOps and Agile delivery approach Experience in designing, building and delivering cloud-based applications on AWS or other cloud provider would be a strong asset Solid hands-on experience in cloud-native design, event-based microservices architecture Results driven, effectively manage expectations and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred Capital Markets and/or Risk Management experience would be an asset Commitment to CPP Investments’ guiding principles of integrity, partnership and high performance Additional Information Visit our Linkedin Career Page or Follow us on Linkedin.
