We are currently seeking a Team Leader, Accounts Payable .

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, this position is an integral part of our dynamic Finance leadership team.

This position will provide leadership and direction to the Accounts Payable team of three and will be responsible to develop and run a high performing accounts payable team.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, a problem solver, and has a mindset of continuous improvement.

The responsibilities of this role include being an integral part of a system upgrade with a go-live date of July 2022.

Specific responsibilities include: Providing leadership, coaching and guidance to the Accounts Payable team, including performance management; Identifying, evaluating, and implementing process improvements and new technology to drive efficiencies through the streamlining and automating of processes and procedures; Actively participating, as an Accounts Payable subject matter expert, in the implementation of a new Practice Management system, including performing and overseeing the testing for Accounts Payable, and providing input for the accounts payable processes; Acting as a strategic Finance leader by identifying problems at the source and seeking solutions that are consistent with the firm’s best practices; Using analytical skills and judgment to solve problems and deal with complex issues that require in-depth assessment; Ensuring proper controls, safeguards and segregation of duties are in place; Reviewing and analyzing month end reconciliations and vendor statements and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner; Documenting and maintaining policies and procedures for Accounts Payable; Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and year end activities; Acting as a backup for other roles within the finance team as needed; Completing special projects as requested, and other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate possesses: Post-secondary education in accounting related field; Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an accounts payable role, professional services experience is considered an asset; Minimum 2 years of demonstrated team leadership, including performance management; Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation an asset; Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) Excellent client service skills required to build and maintain client relationships; Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; and Excellent written & verbal communication skills, a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a team player with excellent client service skills.
